An adorable baby rhino in an Iowa zoo recently discovered snow and she most certainly loves it. The rhino’s handlers at the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines shovelled some freshly snow into the animal’s enclosure and the little creature who has no name yet fell in love with it almost immediately. Initially the baby rhino just stepped into the snow and nosed through it. After some time, she got comfortable with it and cautious exploration turned into complete playfulness.

Last year was surreal by any measure and there are good reasons for people to complain. If you need something to cheer you up, you will love this adorable video of polar bear cubs getting their first glimpse of the world. It’s enough to melt even the most ice-cold heart. The video was shared by the Smithsonian Channel and shows a mama polar bear with her 10-week-old cubs emerging from their den in the spring. Amazingly there were photographers at the spot who shot the video of the cubs getting their first taste of sunlight and they are definitely cute.

Recently the famous nature magazine posted a new video showing a couple of snorkelers in Hawaii chance upon a fight between an octopus and a moray eel. The eel was able to bite of one of the octopus’ tentacles. That however is not much of a problem for the octopus because they are able to regenerate another tentacle without suffering any permanent damage.

Humming Bird Rescued

German Shepard Rescues Injured Humming Bird

Ed Gernon was taking his German Shepard mix out for a walk. As they were strolling along they found a featherless humming bird lying on the ground completely covered in any. Initially Mr Gernon thought the bird was dead, however his dog Rex refused to leave the spot. That was enough to pique the curiosity of Mr Gernon who realised that whilst the humming bird was in poor condition it was still actually alive. Rex’s concern for the humming bird convinced Mr Gernon to try and save the poor bird. So the man to the sick bird back home and nursed it back to health. Since the rescue Mr. Gernon says the humming bird has developed a friendship with his rescue dog and doesn’t want to leave his side. We couldn’t think of anything sweeter.

Marsupials are an incredibly cute family of species. For example, look at this wombat that believes it’s a dog. We aren’t experts on wombats, but it is hard to dismiss behaviour such as running behind a human, sprinting across the lawn or chewing on a sock which sound like things a dog would normally do. We’re not judging this adorable fella called George who thinks he is a dog but it is incredibly cute.

You never know when you are going to make a new friend. Brian Powers found this out when he was out hunting in Wisconsin. Instead of finding something to shoot at he noticed a deer near a creek. What was surprising was that instead of running away, the deer was friendly and approached Mr Powers looking for its head to be scratched. The deer also had an orange scarf tied around its neck.

Who knew that coyotes were just like humans? A YouTube video which was recently uploaded shows a Canadian coyote in complete joy when it chances upon a dog toy. The YouTube user who uploaded the video said he saw the coyote playing on a hill whilst he was getting ready to go to work. He adds that it is not often you get to see coyote’s stray so close to a house so he was extremely surprised when he saw one playing with the neighbour’s dog ball during the day.

Check Out This Gigantic Crocodile Found In Sri Lanka

A massive crocodile that measured 17 feet with a weight nearing 2000 pounds was recently discovered in the Sri Lankan city of Matara. According to Reuters the croc was found stuck in a canal. It is said to be the largest crocodile in the country and experts thinks that the reptile was looking for food in a canal just of the Nilawala River where it became trapped following heavy rains.
