Whatever you do, do not try this at home folks. Check out this video of Jim Kowalczik hanging out with his 1,400 Kodiak bear friend named Jimbo. The pair have a long history as companions so Mr Kowalczik thought nothing of giving his friend a big bear hug when the fella was feeling a little blue. Jimbo has reached the grand old age of 24 and was born in an animal park in California. Mr Kowalczik adopted Jimbo after the park closed.

Elephants Hate It When Other Species Drink “Their Water”

Check out this funny video that was recorded at a watering hole in the Kruger National Park. It tells the story of a cheeky young bull elephant who seems to believe that the watering hole belongs to him. There is a concrete reservoir at the top of a hill which is used for storing water used to fill the open water point. Elephants are intelligent as we all know, and they quickly reached the conclusion that they can drink directly from the reservoir because they are tall enough to reach the water inside using their trunks. This means the elephants have exclusive access to the reservoir feeding the opening water point that is accessible to all other species.

Buffalo Herd Comes To The Rescue Of Elephant Calf Attacked By Lions

A holiday maker who was on safari in South Africa managed to capture some unique footage of a buffalo herd stomping to the rescue of an elephant calf that was being hunted by a lion pride. The footage was shot by Ms Jill Mathews and was uploaded on to YouTube by Kruger Sightings. If you watch the video you will see what happened when Ms Mathews safari group departed from Punda Maria camp and encountered a group of animals seeking water at the nearly-dry Klopperfontein Dam.

Security cameras placed at a border crossing in China recorded footage of an elephant showing complete disregard for man made laws by wandering into Laos from China. And to think it did so without either a visa or passport!

The Aspinall Foundation has some wonderful news for wildlife lovers and conservationists alike. At the start of the year, on January 5th to be exact, Port Lympne welcomed the birth of a male baby black rhino to first time mother Kisima. This is fantastic because the species is critically endangered plus he represents the fourth generation of black rhino born at Port Lympne and is the most recent addition to a lineage which includes his mother, grandmother and great grandmother all of whom were born at the Reserve and where they continue to live.

You have to see this video to believe it. The incredible footage was shot by Dennis Chow off the coast of Vancouver Island British Columbia. Mr Chow and his friends Shaz and Wez were diving when they came across a Giant Pacific Octopus that was trying to conceal itself between the rocks and plant life of a wall. As their name suggests, these octopuses are big and can grow to a span of 16 feet and weigh in excess of 110 pounds.

Last month a whale-watching boat sailing off the coast of San Diego sent a drone into the sky and the device capture a stunning display of a humpback whale performing what one could possibly describe as ballet in the crystal-clear waters. Domenic Biagini a member of the crew of the whale-watching boat was part of the excursion that came across eight whales and says they saw many more spouts in all directions.

Shocking footage has emerged showing a child taking a ride on the back of a python measuring 20 feet long in the streets of a town in Northern Vietnam. The video shows a little boy named Truong aged three happily sitting on the reptile as if it were a horse whilst the snake was navigating the devastating flood waters that had ravaged the region.
