Watch This Video Of Man Getting Bitten By Racoon After Trying To Feed It

21 May 2016 UNDER Blog

A man from Florida who came across some raccoons that looked extremely cuddly learned an important lesson when one of the critters bit him on the finger. Braddock Baskett posted the video of his experience on YouTube which shows him encountering a large group of racoons. The intrepid explorer decides to hold out a piece of food for one of the raccoons which initially seems quite friendly. However sure as tickety boo, the critter teaches Baskett and extremely valuable lesson about feeding wildlife when he bites down on his finger instead. The video shows Baskett leaving the scene with a bloody finger, though he admits he doctored that part of the video using simulated blood. The moral of the story, NEVER feed wild animals because you could get bit and end up contracting rabies.

Check Out What Happens When A Little Girl Blows Lion A Kiss

14 May 2016 UNDER Blog

It can be confusing for kids when they visit the zoo. This is because the animals they see on wildlife documentaries violently fighting for food are suddenly transformed into docile animals that submissively sit behind glass walls. On some occasions the animals just sit there and on other occasions they display signs of zoochosis where they rock back and forth or hit themselves. Every once in a while, animals in captivity will really lash out as a result of the frustration that comes from being imprisoned.

Watch This Video Of A Woman Foolishly Antagonising A Tiger At Toronto Zoo

7 May 2016 UNDER Blog

Some people don’t seem to have an awful lot of common sense. There is no better example than the woman in this video who goes to extreme lengths to retrieve her hat. Visitors at the tiger exhibit of Toronto Zoo looked on in horror as the woman in question leaped over the fence of the tiger pen in order to reclaim her hat. The YouTube video shows the woman jumping the fence as the tiger paces back and forth and tries to jump towards her. Fortunately for her, the tiger was behind a second protective fence, nevertheless, it was a really silly thing to do.

28 April 2016 UNDER Blog

A woman taking an early morning nature walk at a sanctuary in Florida suddenly found herself face to face with a fast approaching Florida panther on a boardwalk. Tina Dorschel managed to keep the video rolling when she saw the animal approaching in the distance. Somehow she had to presence of mind to keep the camera focused on the endangered Florida panther as it passed by her. Ms. Dorschel posted the video on social media and rather unsurprisingly the video went viral.

Public Outrage At Plan To Euthanize Sylvester The Lion

21 April 2016 UNDER Blog

At the end of March Sylvester the lion escaped for a second time from South Africa’s Karoo National Park. The escape resulted in authorities issuing a death sentence on the lion following his recapture. Rather unsurprisingly this did not go down well with the lion loving public. The last time Sylvester escaped he ended up killing 28 sheep, a kudu antelope and a cow before he was captured three weeks later. This time the damage is less extensive with only one cow being killed. However because of his antics South African National Parks (SANParks) thought it was best to put Sylvester down once he was recaptured.

Bear Lion And Tiger Are Best Of Friends

7 April 2016 UNDER Blog

There is no better phrase to describe this trio than “opposites attract”. A Bengal tiger, an African lion and an American black bear are the best of friends, living together at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Georgia. In fact, they are such good friends that they have been given the collective nickname BLT which is an acronym for bear, lion and tiger. The fact that they live together is extremely unusual because when you put different species of wild animals together it is usually quite dangerous says Allison Hedgecoth who is the curator at the sanctuary.
