If you watched Blue Planet II last year then you will be acutely aware of the impact humans are having on our oceans by polluting it with plastic. Indeed, many of us will have seen horrifying images of sea turtles drowning after becoming tangled up in the mess, or the bellies of dead whales filled with bottles and bags. It is disgusting to see trash out at sea that stretches for miles. This is a global crisis of epic proportions and unless immediate action is taken, the oceans will be filled with more plastic than fish within 30 years.

This video captures the dramatic moment of a senior citizen fighting of a leopard who went on a tear around a village in India. The man’s neighbours in the small hamlet can be heard screaming in sheer panic as he struggles to stave of the big cat from his chest following the mauling of three other people who live in the village.

Baby Elephant Gets Rescued From Well

Recently a baby elephant in India found itself trapped in a well and was unable to escape. Fortunately for the little fella he was able to enjoy a touching reunion with the rest of his herd after local forestry officials mounted a rescue mission that took four hours to complete. The elephant calf fell into the well after its herd was crossing the Urulanthanni River. The poor chap immediately began crying out in distress after he found his repeated attempts at escape failed.

This Video Shows An Amur Tiger Being Spooked By A Leopard But That’s Not The Whole Story

The Siberian tiger is on the brink of extinction and sightings of the big cat are rare. Footage of a tiger going near other species of big cats is even rarer. However recently a camera trap in a Russian nature reserve managed to capture footage of both an adult Amur tiger and leopard seeking refuge in the same cave. It has to be said that the Amur leopard is just as rare as its tiger cousin.

Last month rescue workers arrived at a home in Thailand after the owner reported that a massive python had slithered under the patio. The rescue workers smashed their way through the concrete and dragged the python into a truck so that they could drive it to somewhere in the wild where it could be released.

A professional golfer from Scotland managed to capture some amazing footage of a cobra fighting for its life. The cobra was trying to fend off an attack by a mongoose that took place on a golf course in South Africa. The attack occurred right in the middle of the European Tour’s Nedbank Golf Challenge and Golfer Andrew Coltart was lucky enough to film it and post it online.

Police Arrest Hooligans Harassing Endangered Asiatic Lions

A group of men riding motorcycles recorded themselves harassing and chasing Asiatic lions in the Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary in the Indian state of Gujarat. It appears the individuals in question weren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer because they posted the footage they shot online and now they are in trouble with authorities. The incident in question actually took place six months ago in a sanctuary that serves as home to 400 lions. But the video only went viral recently and led forest officials to contact police according to reports in the Indian media.

After consistently being rejected by a potential female mate, a male lion at Kruger National Park in South Africa decided to adopt a different strategy in order to impress her. The lion did so by intimidating a safari car that was filled with tourists. Mark Williams-Wynn was visiting the famous safari park and was at a place where a number of cars had stopped so that their occupants could observe the lions. Mr Williams-Wynn along with everyone else witnessed the lion being frustrated by his potential mate and then started recording because he sensed something was about to happen.

This little baby rhino attempted to act all grown up by fake charging a car that was filled with safari tourists at South Africa’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park game reserve. The driver of the car initially responded by backing away from the cute little critter but it has to be said no one in the car felt intimidated whatsoever. Brendon Arnesen who shot the video of the adorable encounter said he and the other passengers though it was the cutest thing ever.
